Upgrade to Regional Referee Request
NOTE: REQUESTS SUBMITTED AFTER JANUARY 4, 2026 MAY NOT BE PROCESSED IN TIME FOR UPGRADE THIS SEASON. The list of upgrade candidates is reaching capacity for this season. You can apply but there is no guarantee we can get everyone who comes in after January 4 will get through the process.
To be considered for Regional Referee please review the requirements and if you are ready to be considered for upgrade, please fill out the form below. This will generate an email to Sue Wainio
If your eligibility is confirmed, you will receive the Advancement course modules in your USAV Academy account. You should complete the course modules.
When you are scheduled to work a tournament in Daytona, Tampa or one of the other evaluation sites you will be put on the schedule for evaluation.

Regional upgrade evaluation sites
You should be sure to sign up for at least two of the tournaments where we will be doing evaluations. We can't always get all three of the needed evaluations done at one event.

If you are a PROVISIONAL looking to upgrade to REGIONAL you must have worked two seasons as a provisional. We will be doing evaluations throughout the season, based on available resources. You must pass two evaluations as R1 and one evaluation as R2. You must also complete the regular and advancement online training courses in the USA Volleyball Academy.
